How the garden is used:

Students grow lettuce, beans, tomatoes, spinach, carrots and poinsettia plants; students in the Summer Program in Agriculture complete a special project in the greenhouse and/or garden; salad greens grown in the greenhouse have been served in the cafeteria as part of the school lunch program

Favorite student garden activities:

Salad greens grown by students in the greenhouse have been served in the cafeteria as part of the school lunch program.  One student noted that there is “gratification of it being in the lunch line – knowing it’s fresh.”  Another student said the best part of having their salad greens served in the lunchroom is “seeing your work take place, grow; knowing something is happening with the work that you do.”
